'The project has been created to celebrate Grimsby's world-famous heritage in unique, innovative and creative ways, and is designed to appeal to local communities and national audiences alike'.
The ‘Paint The Town Proud’ heritage initiative is delivered in collaboration with a number of local, national and international artists, creative organisations, community groups and commercial partners across several venues and locations throughout Grimsby.
We will be providing a cross-generational and extensive programme of visual artwork and impactful multimedia that combines creative technologies such as digital design and photography alongside community-led murals and graffiti.
We will be running a series of workshops covering digital technologies including storytelling, art, photography and will be building innovative exhibitions, augmented reality and multimedia pathways and documentaries throughout Grimsby.
Collaborative feature murals on selected town centre buildings depicting fishing scenes or iconic trawlers with digital augmented reality experience which will take the audience into the moment, feeling and experiencing the scene with more impact.
Series of engaging community murals [indoors and outdoors] working in collaboration with emerging local artists and community groups and volunteers.
International connections - we will feature one of the murals overseas through established partnership. Still being explored.
We will create a digital trail of the artworks with built in storytelling and soundscape to take audiences on a journey physically and virtually into the history of the town and its people.
Memory Lane podcasts will be created based on stories that emerge from the consultation - this content will also be used for the sound scapes.
Public consultations and events - partnering with online history and social media groups to develop the specific themes, stories, artworks etc. Mural designs and concepts will emerge from these consultations.
Working with a diverse range of community groups and partners we will be offering a series of creative workshops in different artforms including painting, drawing, graffiti, photography, sound production, digital creation, creative writing
