Our Community
Our community consists of individuals with a wide range of experiences of being in recovery.
'Creative Start was built from voluntary action and that ethos continues throughout all our work. There is no pressure to commit on any of our volunteers. They are involved because they want to be'.
We have experienced and skilled people who are invested in Creative Start and committed to building its future. They include people in recovery, affected others and family members, armed forces veterans, students, artists, teachers, local businesses and members of the public.
We have qualified and experienced directors who are able to contribute to the delivery and can support the recruitment process for sessional staff.
In addition, through our network of contacts, we have identified local professionals and businesses with experience of delivering workshop sessions who are able to contribute to our services.
People volunteer on our projects for different reasons, some because of their interest in art, some for support, some to gain experience and others because they are affected by the issues we aim to tackle.
They are not driven financially but by a desire to help their community and be involved in something that makes a difference to people's lives and benefits their community as a whole.
